Time for Action

Tragically, the world witnessed another entirely predictable slaughter over the weekend, 129 dead and counting. There will be others, of course, and next time it could be London, Manchester, Berlin, New York or maybe even Paris again, in fact anywhere in the world inhabited by we “unbelievers”.

Well, what are we going to do about it? Naturally, Western leaders have expressed outrage, President Obama has talked of crimes against humanity, Prime Minister Cameron has talked about sharing the pain and all have talked of solidarity with France which is all very well and good, but, to repeat the question, what are we actually going to do about it?

This is deadly serious, literally, and the only sensible statement I’ve heard from any politician has been the response of French President Hollande, who said that we are “at war”. We are, the whole of the civilised world is at war with the extremists of Islam whose self-proclaimed aim is to destroy us.

The United Nations, according to its own charter was set up to safeguard the security and liberty of sovereign nations and their citizens. Sadly, we all know that the UN is worse than useless and so it has to fall upon the civilised world, namely us and all our freedom-loving allies, to unite and defend ourselves.

There is no choice but to form an armed coalition and put men on the ground in Syria and Iraq, in fact, anywhere where these psychopaths congregate, and neutralise the threat, whatever it takes. At home we have to be more vigilant than ever and must sadly abandon our failed policy of tolerance and get tough with those who live within our midst and whose self-avowed aim is our destruction.

This will inevitably bring forth allegations of breaches of human rights from the liberal politically correct elite who have such a big say in Western government but, too bad. As long as the authorities act rationally and in a cool measured manner, safeguarding the rights of law-abiding citizens, we have nothing to fear.

If there is another realistic alternative then, I for one, have yet to hear of it. This is not a game, this is deadly reality. Our leaders have talked too much, now they must act.

  1. Unfortunately we wont retaliate until they launch a nuclear bomb which they one day will. It will be a bit like World War 2 where in hindsight we said ‘How did we not see what was coming’… It is War but a war where we cant see where the battle will be until we have to bury the dead…

  2. Sadly we have been too tolerant for too long. The leftie Strasbourg human rights brigade have had their day now & we need to respond with the stoicism & strength that our fore-fathers would have done. Only yesterday a human rights campaigner interviewed on BBC complained about the British drone employed to kill a British citizen in Syria wined on about his loss of rights. Emwazi lost all his rights when he left Britain, along with all of these cowards. We need to strike at the heart of this evil cancer, but just where is that heart? It seems out of control in yet an acutely executed plot. This will only add to the fear of which city will be next & suspicion of the Muslim community going about their day to day lives. There is a feeling of anxiety & dread in areas of mass populous which is what they want yet is a natural reaction. The same primal drivers also seek retribution by retaliation which will only fuel the Jihadi cause & attract the disaffected few.We must invest heavily into surveillance technology to be a step ahead. We must cease broadcasting all ISIS imagery/footage, it often glorifies their fight.Strong decisive leadership is now needed.

  3. Agreed. The world is crying out for strong leadership from the USA. So far only Putin has stood up to ISIS but his motives are obviously questionable. If nothing effective is done then it merely feeds the far right who will increase in number because they are the only ones who will appear to be making a stand. We must never forget that not all Muslims are terrorists. However, it seems that all terrorists are Muslims. As you said, how to identify the guilty?

  4. Mr. England In my miserable attempt at computer wizardry I stumbled across your excellent views on life in the U.K. I believe mine match yours towards my own elected idiots. My blog is johnberend.blogspot.com/common sense. Today I was about to post this same last 2 sentences of yours. My hat is off to you and I guess by virtue of some of our thoughts being similiar then I’ve taken my Stetson off to myself as well. Obviously the desert heat is getting to me. By the way I live in a suburb of Phoenix Arizona and was born in the state of Wisconsin in 1945.
